Hi, I’m Julianne!

As a thirty-five-year resident of Enumclaw, proud EHS graduate, and parent of 2 kids enrolled in our school system, the quality of education in the Enumclaw School District is incredibly important to me. The well-being of kids in our community has always been a primary concern of mine, as evidenced by my years in youth ministry. I am passionate about connecting with kids while equipping them with the skills they need to lead a meaningful life. I have local experience in home loans, art, and business ownership that has deepened my commitment to the Enumclaw community and the future of its youngest residents.

I joined the school board in 2021 to give back to the community and school system that shaped me. So many of my personal and professional successes are owed to the invaluable lessons and experiences I had in our public school system.

Welcoming Everyone

I believe in inclusive schools, places where every student is welcomed and given the chance to learn and grow. I support giving our students access to social and emotional learning, and I believe in meeting the needs of the whole child.

Centering the Community

Education is, and always should be, community-centered. Schools bring families, teachers, and neighbors together to invest in the future of our kids. Parent and community engagement is vital to the success of our children, and research shows that parent involvement drives student success. I believe in championing that success by including our community in district decision-making. I am a strong advocate for continued parent involvement when selecting curriculums and in community groups like the FOCUS committee  (a facilities oversight group).

Looking Forward

I believe schools must be future-focused.  One of the areas I have been committed to supporting in my time on the board is our district’s CTE (Career and Technical Education) program.   I have been a part of our district’s CTE advisory board for the last 3 years.  A college education is a wonderful thing, and is necessary for many career paths, but it isn’t the ONLY career path.  CTE equips students with real-world skills that are directly applicable in the workforce, and many programs offer certifications, apprenticeships, and additional credits. Strong future-focused programs like our CTE program ensure that schools are not only preparing students academically, but also empowering them to graduate with confidence, purpose, and multiple pathways to success.

Following The Data

I believe in equipping students to learn better and freeing educators to teach more effectively through cohesive frameworks and data-driven decision-making. When curriculum, instruction, assessments, professional development, and student supports are all working together toward the same goals (systems alignment), students thrive. By coordinating each of these systems through practical applications, like the addition of a master schedule last year, we can ensure that every student has access to consistent, high-quality learning, while still allowing for our expert teachers to provide those deep, meaningful, authentic learning experiences. Our district has been compiling data extensively over the last 4 years in an effort to assess where we are and where we can improve, so we can continue to raise the bar.
